Our story

From Balinese workshops to the beach

Rattan has been woven in Bali for generations, and the island's natural straw bags have become the accessory of choice for a holiday by the sea. A Balinese weaver shapes each bag by hand from rattan cane — bending, lacing and finishing it so the weave is even and the frame holds its shape. Naga brings that craft straight from Balinese workshops: light, natural, and made to carry the essentials along any coast.

How it's made

Each bag is woven by hand from rattan cane in a Balinese workshop. The cane is shaped, laced and finished so the weave holds firm, then fitted with a strap and a simple lining. No two bags are quite identical.

How to use it

Slip the strap across your body and let the bag sit at the hip — the natural way to carry it. It suits a day by the beach, a market stroll or a summer evening. Wipe with a dry cloth to keep it fresh.

Good to know

How do I wear it?

The strap is made to be worn across the body, letting the bag sit at the hip. It can also be worn over one shoulder — whichever suits your day.

What fits inside?

The round and rectangular bags carry a phone, keys, wallet and a little more. The mini bag holds the essentials; the basket style is the roomiest of the range.

How do I care for it?

Wipe with a dry cloth to remove dust, and keep it out of heavy rain and harsh direct sun. A light rub with a natural oil now and then keeps the cane supple.

Is each bag the same?

No — every bag is woven by hand in a Balinese workshop, so each carries small variations in the weave and colour. That is the mark of a hand-made piece, not a flaw.

Is it made to last?

Yes — rattan is a strong, hard-wearing cane, and the bags are shaped and finished to hold their form. Keep them dry and out of prolonged rain, and they serve for years.

What is rattan?

Rattan is a strong, flexible cane that grows across Southeast Asia. It has been woven in Bali for generations, and its natural, open weave is light, breathable and beautifully durable.
